Santé Public Papier Final
I wrote this paper during my study abroad program in Senegal, where I examined the rising concerns of diabetes and hypertension in the country’s healthcare system. I analyzed the impact of cultural factors, such as Ramadan, on diabetes regulation and explored how the medical system is addressing these growing health issues. This analysis strengthened my ability to understand the complexities of healthcare in different cultural contexts and the importance of tailored healthcare solutions. As someone pursuing a medical degree, I will draw on these insights to practice culturally competent care and engage with patients from diverse backgrounds. This artifact demonstrates my growth in understanding global health challenges and the cultural factors that influence medical practices, which are essential for providing compassionate and effective care in diverse settings.
La résistance aux antibiotiques
This paper was written for my French for Health Professionals course, examining the global crisis of antibiotic resistance and its impact on public health. I analyzed how misuse and overuse of antibiotics contribute to the rise of multidrug-resistant infections, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. This research deepened my understanding of the structural and socioeconomic factors that influence healthcare disparities and treatment accessibility. As someone pursuing a career in medicine, I will apply this knowledge to advocate for responsible antibiotic use and public health initiatives that address global health inequities. This artifact demonstrates my ability to analyze complex medical issues in a global context, a skill that is essential for providing informed, culturally competent, and patient-centered care.
